Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 C all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 C. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C shortening
1 C. packed brown sugar
1 C. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 C. semisweet chocolate chips (or white chips)
1 C. chopped walnuts or pecans or almonds (optional . . . sort of)

Cream butter and shortening with sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add dry ingredients and beat til well combined. Stir in chips and nuts. Bake at 375 F for 8 to 10 minutes until barely done. Cool until they don’t burn your mouth, and eat as quickly as possible.
